I still think often of how The Huffington Post was allowed to rise off the back of people writing for free, how it normalised it, and how the person behind it sold up for hundreds of millions, and is regarded as a legend of business. I'd also suggest the value of writers has never really recovered.

Very illustrative way to frame this: more money has been spent on this lop generator than on the largest and most expensive infrastructure project this nation has ever undertaken. Seems dicey.

Republicans on Supreme Court continue their Article I nullification campaign - Lawyers, Guns & Money
The Supreme Court has been captured by a dangerous cabal that resorts to sneaky and improper methods to get its ways: The Supreme Court on Friday allowed the Trump administration to withhold $4 billion in foreign aid that had been appropriated by Congress in a major test of Mr. Trump’s efforts to wrest the power […]

Trump has single-handedly destroyed the U.S. Soybean market. Right now, it’s about a $2 loss per bushel of soybean… We need to demand: 1) Trade Not Aid. Farmers don’t want bailouts, they want markets. 2) We need more competition both on the market side and with inputs! 🇺🇸

There’s this very sticky refrain about how we need open dialog with people across the political spectrum and that’s great but I want to be clear fascism is not part of a ‘political spectrum.’ It’s like how Twinkies aren’t part of the food pyramid. Our children need to play more Wolfenstein.

The average American voter doesn't like "socialism." And self-proclaimed "socialists" could easily run as "FDR New Deal capitalists" and actually get elected without needlessly scaring away voters. There's a reason MAGA hasn't embraced the term "fascist" or "authoritarian."

This policy is the ultimate expression of what is wrong with the last three decades of technocratic liberalism. It hands public money to bad private sector actors. It will win over zero of the reactionary voters it is supposed to mollify. It will massively annoy every other voter in the process.
