One of the biggest shocks of my adult life was realizing there's a hidden division in society between people who think certain acts - cruelty, torture, murder - are inherently wrong, versus the majority of people who think there are no wrong actions, just incorrect targets.

Every disabled person is "genuinely disabled". It's pretty simple really. And yes a significant proportion of the UK population are disabled. Poverty, inequality, NHS underfunding, aging population, a Pandemic all have a significant impact on that. They're all still disabled.

Anyone who makes bullshit claims like “the most vulnerable will be protected”, simply doesn’t understand how things work in reality. When you add restrictions into a system, the most vulnerable are the FIRST to be harmed.

3 things Starmer could do instead of camps in old barracks that would actually WORK👇 1. Create safe, regulated routes to apply for asylum in the UK 2. Let asylum seekers WORK & support themselves 3. Fast track status for people from obviously unsafe countries

Many seem to think
#disabled
people "should just work", but they don't understand/care that: 1. Workplaces systemically discriminate against us 2. We're often paid less than the non-disabled 3. Accommodations that would enable us to work are often denied and it makes me mad.

“If that disabled person can do this job, then you can work too” By that logic…. Where’s your Olympic medal? Why aren’t you a brain surgeon? Oh… yeah… because not everyone can do everything… even if you’re not disabled.

As a disabled person I am not “insulted” by the tiny number of folk circumventing the system… I’m insulted by disability benefits being less than a liveable amount. By the process being inaccessible and harming vulnerable people. By ableists making ableist assumptions.

Jfc the ignorance of the majority of the public disability benefits is truly off the scale… Instead of listening and learning, they just spew hate and then get defensive when called out. They believe the clickbait headlines rather than the actual disabled people…

Disabled people have been warning of forced institutionalization for years. They want to lock away anyone they see as “less than”. Homeless people are just the first targets. We need affordable housing, healthcare & a basic income. Help people meet their basic needs & homelessness goes down

So I may not be the best at cake decorating and I may have forgotten to buy candles so my 15 year old stepdaughter had to settle for being 2, but I made coffee cake with caramel cream and apparently it tasted good so parenting success? She ate the whole thing herself over two days - legend.

A disabled person shouldn’t ever feel they have to “prove” themselves to random ableists online (or in-person). Whether that be about their health conditions, or how they spend their money… it’s none of their business, and the person only need share what they choose to.

As times get weird, there's a Doctor Who audio drama from 2002 that I think about a lot called Neverland. In it the Doctor discovers that his own people, the Time Lords, used to have a method of execution called "the Oubliette of Eternity" which erases the convicted person from time completely.
