Free newsletter: The dawn of token-based-billing has shown that generative AI doesnāt have a return on investment. It's too unpredictable, too unreliable, you can't easily measure the cost of tasks, and organizations are already pulling back.

Anthropic and OpenAI are dangerous and unsustainable companies that shouldnāt be taken public. The AI bubble is a con and retail investors are the marks. AI doesnāt have ROI, itās nothing like AWS or Uber, and itās got no post-bubble recovery story.

This is absolutely nuts: hackers are hijacking high-profile Instagram accounts by simply asking Meta's AI chatbot to change the email on the account. Meta's AI does it, hacker gets password reset code, they're in. A staggering security issue

We are going to win! This stuff can and will be brought to a halt. None of it is inevitable. Anthropic cannot afford to slow down. It has to grow to at least $100bn a year in revenue or it doesnāt have a hope in hell of paying its compute bills. Same for clammy little Altman.
