I'm unreasonably fond of "box o' rocks" heat storage. Get a bunch of bricks/gravel/whatever, wrap 'em in resistive heating elements, heat 'em up when it's sunny or windy, use the heat when it's not. I've really come to think that many people recoil from climate politics, as they did from Covid politics, not *in spite* of the fact that the problem obviously calls for (can only be solved by) solidarity & cooperation, but *because* of it.
