Great thread! I will absolutely adopt this as a descriptor. (I used to write for a U2 fan site. I discovered I was pony famous after U2 played the Sphere. I struck up conversation with another woman who had been to the show, she asked my name, and legit squealed when I gave it. It was mind-blowing!)

A lesson we have learned from Ukraine is that Stephen Colbert will make an excellent President.

This is a good time to watch, or revisit, Stephen Colbert being interviewed by the chaplain of the Colbert Nation, Fr. Jim Martin. There's so much power in the perspective he offers of trying to see things "in the light of eternity."

I am a big fan of Molly Jong-Fast, but I think she misses the mark in this piece. The fight against fascism takes many people doing many types of work. Colbert's part has been to create a space to laugh at the absurdity. That's important, because you can't laugh and be afraid at the same time.
