Today marks 144 years since the Chinese Exclusion Act enshrined discrimination into the law, denying Chinese immigrants the right to become citizens. My own grandfather was considered a 2nd class citizen because of this xenophobic legislation.

📊NEW DATA: We analyzed ICE activity during the first 14 months of Trump’s current presidential term, and found that arrests, detentions, and deportations of Asian and Pacific Islander people are on the rise. Here's what you need to know ⬇️

As Trump and Stephen Miller use domestic surveillance to suppress our constitutional rights, it’s more urgent than ever that we reform FISA and establish warrant requirements. Today’s reauthorization of FISA Section 702 completely fails to protect our privacy. I am a NO.

In fact, Stop AAPI Hate's research shows that half of AA/PI adults felt the impact of Trump's anti-immigrant policies or sentiment last year. If Trump continues to legitimize racism and xenophobia, this number will only continue to grow.

This is the same president whose hateful rhetoric fueled a wave of anti-Asian hate during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, his anti-immigrant policies are wreaking havoc across AAPI communities.

We're disgusted by Trump's amplification of a racist, anti-immigrant tirade — slandering Chinese and Indian people as "gangsters" from "hell-hole" countries who have "almost no loyalty" to the United States. Yet again, Trump is using his platform to spew racism and xenophobia at its most extreme.

As the son of Indian immigrants, I take great pride in both my heritage and in the country that gave my family the opportunity to build a better life. The comments shared by Trump on Truth Social about Indian immigrants are offensive, ignorant, and beneath the dignity of the office he holds.

Chinese and Indian Americans are an integral part of our community and this country as a whole. Language like this demeans our friends and neighbors and reverberates across the world. It only fuels an already troubling rise in anti-Asian hate and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. (2/2)

Five ICE agents surrounded an Asian woman walking down the street and detained her without explanation. Our communities are living in fear of being abducted by federal agents. Why did ICE target this woman? Where have they taken her? We need answers now.

The fight is not over: The Supreme Court of Virginia will soon hear legal challenges about the referendum. But last night is proof that everyday people are fed up with Trump's authoritarian rampage. We can't stop here. We must refuse to let him rig our elections and take our voting rights away.
