America is facing a real energy crunch. Families are paying more, and our grid is under strain. The answer isn’t blocking clean power or gutting efficiency, it’s scaling the cheapest, fastest tools we have. [1/2]

Energy efficiency means lower bills. Since President Trump took office, household electricity costs are up 11%. Instead of working with Democrats to solve this affordability crisis, Republicans are set on gutting so-called "woke" efficiency standards. [1/2]

While long overdue, I am happy to welcome Congresswoman Grijalva to congress. With her now confirmed we can finally get to work and force the release of the Epstein files.

Republicans chose to shut down the government rather than lower health care costs. They chose to use food as leverage and ignored court orders telling them to stop. Now they’re jamming through a C.R. that doesn't stop premiums from skyrocketing and millions of Americans from losing coverage. [1/2]

Veterans Day is a moment of reflection, a moment of gratitude, and a moment of responsibility. Today, I had the privilege of honoring WWII veteran Raymond Basquez, whose commitment to service should be an incredible example for us all to follow.

While the Trump administration rips SNAP benefits away from families, our community stepped up. This week, my team and I volunteered at food banks all over our district, putting in over a hundred staff hours, and getting food to over 2,100 families.

This morning, I joined @coveredca.bsky.social California to kick off open enrollment. Covered California and the Affordable Care Act have transformed lives by making affordable, high-quality health care a reality for millions of families. That progress is now at risk.

For the second time in two weeks a federal judge has ordered Donald Trump to fund SNAP for the month of November. We still don’t know if he’s going to follow that order, because he has yet to follow the first. [1/2]

I joined the Yolo Food Bank today to help support our West Sacramento community in their time of need. Food should never be used as a bargaining chip. The Trump administration may be dragging their feet to feed the American people, but our region isn’t. [1/2]

As the Republican shutdown drags on, the Trump Administration is doubling down on their cruel choice to ignore a federal court order demanding they provide SNAP benefits for November. They may be willing to abandon vulnerable Americans, but my Democratic colleagues and I will not. [1/3]

The Trump administration has made a deliberate choice to not feed the American people. Even when directed by a judge to do so—they’re still doing the bare minimum to support the most vulnerable Americans. I will never stop calling them out and fighting to keep food on your table.

I was honored to stand with Jesus Tarango, Chairman of the Wilton Rancheria Tribe, and the City of Elk Grove to celebrate their sovereignty and raise the flag of Wilton Rancheria. For generations, Tribal Nations have fought to be seen and heard in their own land. [1/3]

The Constitution is clear; the President cannot impose his will on our state's elections. This was nothing more than another unconstitutional attempt by the Trump administration to expand their power and control our elections. I am very happy to see that the courts have checked that attempt.

The Great Gatsby is a cautionary tale about moral decay and unchecked narcissism. The Trump administration thinks that’s something to celebrate while they refuse to feed the American people.

Today kicks off #CoveredCalifornia open enrollment. But because of Republican attacks on health care, thousands of Sacramentans are about to face serious sticker shock. If Republicans don’t come to the table and help extend the enhanced premium tax credits, costs will only continue to rise. [1/2]

Republicans demand “work requirements” for struggling families to access vital Medicaid and SNAP benefits. Meanwhile, they can’t even bother to show up for work for weeks on end. It’s pathetic. The hypocrisy and cruelty is off the charts.

It cannot be said enough: the Trump Administration can fund SNAP for November. They are making a conscious choice not to. Republicans have SNAP contingency funds that would keep kids fed this month and they refuse to release them.

Let's keep it simple. Republicans are choosing to make health care unaffordable, and they are willing to keep the government shut down and make people suffer. This is not a policy choice, it's just cruel.

Thousands of active-duty military members and 1.2 million veterans rely on SNAP to keep themselves and their families fed. The Trump administration will own their suffering if they choose not to release the contingency fund. [1/2]

Speaker Johnson and House Republicans have called votes only 12 days since July 25th. They haven’t worked since September 19th. They control the House, the Senate, and the White House.[1/2]

Republicans already gutted $186 billion from SNAP in the Big Ugly Bill. Now the Trump Administration is doubling down, letting 42 million Americans go hungry while they can prevent it.

The Trump Administration somehow found $40 billion to bail out Argentina yet refuses to use $6 billion in congressionally approved contingency funds to prevent 42 million Americans from going hungry. It’s indefensible. Their priorities are shameful.

The Trump Administration has the ability to fully fund SNAP for the month of November. Instead, they are CHOOSING to be cruel and allow 42 million Americans to go hungry.

My colleagues and I are calling on USDA to use every available tool to keep SNAP benefits flowing. No one should go hungry while Republicans play games.

Speaker Johnson still won’t swear in duly elected Adelita Grijalva because she is the final vote needed to release the Epstein files. Do your job, Mr. Speaker, and release the files.

I had lunch with our air traffic controllers, the incredible public servants who keep our skies safe. Yet right now, they’re doing this vital work without pay. I will always support our air traffic controllers and their families. Republicans need to come back to the table and end the shutdown.

Today, I met with our community leaders to discuss what’s at stake if Republicans let Enhanced Premium Tax Credits expire. While Republicans force a costly shutdown and threaten these vital tax credits, Democrats aren’t backing down. I won't stop fighting to lower costs and protect access to care.

The White House just froze $11B in Army Corps projects targeting blue states. I’ve worked with the Corps for years—across parties—to protect Sacramento from catastrophic floods. Now Russ Vought is playing political games with people’s lives. It’s reckless, dangerous and an absolute embarrassment.

It’s been weeks since Adelita Grijalva was duly elected, yet Speaker Johnson still refuses to swear her in. Why? Because she’d be the 218th signature needed to release the Epstein files. Do your job, Mr. Speaker. Swear her in.

Today, House Democrats gathered on the Capitol steps to highlight how the Republican assault on health care is hurting hardworking Americans. Republicans know the damage being done—they’re choosing to ignore their constituents. Instead of fixing the problems they’ve caused, they’ve skipped town.
