We're outraged by their disregard for the safety of protestors outside an ICE prison, Delaney Hall. @kim.senate.gov was pepper-sprayed by ICE agents after attempting to stop them from driving a big vehicle directly through a crowd.

New details have emerged about the horrific mass shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego. According to the evidence so far, this attack appears to have been inspired by right-wing conspiracy theories — promoting white supremacy and hatred for immigrants, women, Muslims, Jews, and LGBTQ+ people.

We are horrified and heartbroken by the mass shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego that took the lives of three people on Monday afternoon. We stand in solidarity with the victims, their loved ones, and Muslim communities grieving this devastating act of violence. 🧵⬇️

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, people nationwide came together to condemn anti-Asian hate. But even as public attention faded away, our data shows that hate against both Asian American and Pacific Islander communities has remained alarmingly high and has not returned to pre-pandemic levels.

The data is clear: When ICE makes racial profiling its core strategy, Asian immigrants pay the price. In New York and other states with big Asian populations, ICE is separating families and traumatizing immigrants and U.S. citizens alike.

#OnThisDay in 1882, Congress passed the Chinese Exclusion Act. For several decades, this racist policy restricted Chinese immigration and denied hundreds of thousands of Chinese people already in the U.S. their right to become American citizens. Sounds familiar? 🧵⬇️

Norman Wong, a descendant of Wong Kim Ark, the Chinese American whose Supreme Court citizenship case affirmed birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment, shares why protecting birthright citizenship matters.

If Trump's attack on birthright citizenship succeeds, how will it affect Asian communities? According to our co-founder and co-director, Cynthia Choi, it would completely upend the lives of immigrant families like her own.

For generations, Asian Americans came to the U.S. on visas to work for U.S. companies and study at U.S. universities. They contributed to our communities and economy while trying to get citizenship.
