Half of AA/PI adults experienced an act of race-based hate in 2025, according to our latest survey conducted with @norc.org. We continue to get stories from people who’ve been wrongfully threatened with a report to ICE and other acts of hate inspired by Trump’s agenda.

Today, the Trump regime is employing similar anti-immigrant tactics. They want us to think this is business as usual — but we know the truth. No one should live in fear of being treated like an enemy in their own country — not in 1882, and certainly not in 2026.

#OnThisDay in 1882, Congress passed the Chinese Exclusion Act. For several decades, this racist policy restricted Chinese immigration and denied hundreds of thousands of Chinese people already in the U.S. their right to become American citizens. Sounds familiar? 🧵⬇️

BREAKING: in April 2026, *every single one* of the 1,570 refugees admitted in the United States were white South Africans. In FY 2026, the U.S. has admitted a total of 6,066 white South Africans, three Afghans (back in November 2025), and nobody else.

There was no greater and more effective advocate in the VA redistricting fight. It's 1000% clear what Trump is doing here.

The Roberts Court majority may be pretending they don't know the Voting Rights Act is what ended Jim Crow and their decision to gut it is license to take us back ("again") to stealing power from Black voters, but Americans do:

The return to Jim Crow is already starting. This is akin to Texas immediately implementing a new voter ID law that allowed someone to vote with a gun permit but not a student ID hours after Shelby County decision

This Court, and the right more generally, is not merely undermining democracy. They are targeting multiracial democracy. That has always been the dividing line. And as Steven Levitsky and Daniel Ziblatt argue, it is multiracial democracy or no democracy at all.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court struck down a Louisiana map that fairly represents Black voters, gutting Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. This devastating attack from the Court majority destroys protections for voters of color across the country.

In fact, Stop AAPI Hate's research shows that half of AA/PI adults felt the impact of Trump's anti-immigrant policies or sentiment last year. If Trump continues to legitimize racism and xenophobia, this number will only continue to grow.

We're disgusted by Trump's amplification of a racist, anti-immigrant tirade — slandering Chinese and Indian people as "gangsters" from "hell-hole" countries who have "almost no loyalty" to the United States. Yet again, Trump is using his platform to spew racism and xenophobia at its most extreme.

The DOJ was created to increase the capacity for federal prosecutions during Reconstruction esp. those to be brought under the newly enacted KuKlux Klan Act. Now the DOJ is being used to prosecute a storied civil rights organization whose central mission has been to expose & dismantle the Klan.
