The pro-Russian Patriotic Bloc came second with 24 percent. The elections were seen as a choice between closer EU integration or renewed Russian influence.

This is true. If they post everything Trump says, it should be followed with fact-checking. That doesn’t happen anymore because they fear retaliation from his administration.

We must recognize how precarious this moment is. But we must not perpetuate the Trumpists’ assertions of strength and dominance. For now, the gap between their authoritarian aspirations and the reality of U.S. society remains significant. That’s where the counter can yet happen.
