Felt like I needed to add a sense of mystery and adventure to my life. Then I remembered we live in a world where I can order something called a "volcano dipper" from a pizza place and now my husband and I are waiting for this abomination to get delivered.

Last but not least, SB 1117 eliminates the impact fee cliff that triggers for ADUs above 750 sqft, requiring that cities charge a marginal fee above this threshold—making it much easier to build family-sized units.

SB 1117: Reducing the Cost of ADUs
SB 1117 will make it less costly to build ADUs by removing an arbitrary financial penalty that many jurisdictions impose on ADUs over 750 square feet.

Hitting 50% on this wacky project makes me so happy for two reasons: 1. I really didn't think this would work 2. It's such good old fashioned internet magic to be able to get excited about something weird and niche with strangers Thanks for playing, let's go get the other half!

It was a gorgeous early morning walk, low tide and no wind, perfect for the swimmers. Guys were also out fishing from the water’s edge.

@yonahfreemark.com
wrote an interesting piece about how to improve public engagment in the US, which he correctly notes is relevant not just to transportation projects, but also housing and climate.
@thefoxandthecity.com
has a good thread about it below. As a former pollster, I have thoughts!

One of my favorite Yugoslav designs is the K67 modular kiosk. Injection molded modular plastic building often used for newspaper vendors, coffee shops and info kiosks. Could be linked together like legos.

Certain doors demand your attention when walking passed them, demand you wonder about what happens beyond them. They generate an intimate, personal folklore, unfold odd stories in your mind. I'd knock upon them, but the sense of mystery is just too valuable. –
