Pluribus is such a joy, man. Nothing revolutionary I guess, but just carried out with such panache by a team at the absolute top of their game. Watching it is almost akin to Twin Peaks The Return—even its most deliberately paced moments have me thrilled that I get to spend more time in this world.

If you pay attention to any large industry long enough and follow it to its logical conclusion you eventually end up sounding like a communist even if you started off testing CPU case fans.

Been playing a bunch of recent games on my Steam Deck and the whole Deck Verified thing is becoming more and more curious to me. Plenty of games whose status suggests they flat out won't work on the system performing perfectly, relative to a bunch of Great On Deck options that, well... ain't great!

I... think I enjoy Blippo+? I guess I like what it's grasping for more than what it actually is. The concept is super cool—just don't know that the scripts for the various shows have the comedic juice to sustain what the game actually wants out of players/observers.

Had the pleasure of editing the script for this video from the inimitable

a while back and I'm very excited it's finally out there in video form. Many points when reading it where I thought "YES! YES!" Truly excellent writer, super fun structure. Well worth your time.

really important video from pmg to the point where even complimenting it feels in its own way like a damning failure because this is a couple independent games journalists covering one of the most sophisticated systems of extermination in the history of humanity:

Wolf of Wall Street is one of the lesser Scorsese films as far as I'm concerned. Jonah Hill sucks! Alien is just... Alien, man. Perfect. Refreshing to see Sarah Squirm do something truly wild with the standup format. Some Kind of Monster is the ultimate how-to guide for how not to be in a band

Don't really have enough albums for a huge end of year list or anything, but the new Deaf Club was great. New Full of Hell EP ruled, seeing that Irk was back with a new album was very cool, but honestly the new All Men Unto Me absolutely blew me away. Highly recommended. V thankful to know Rylan.

Hard to think of a game with a release as fuckin wild as Ace Combat 3. If you play the regular ol' English version, you get a few decent missions completely absent of context. Play the Japanese version, you get two full fuckin discs of dense, branching path stories for Neon Genesis Planevangelion

You could justify paying 60 bucks for I Am Your Beast alone. I didn't end up making a Game of the Year vid last year but that game would have almost certainly topped it. This is a ludicrously good deal.

The next time you’re tempted to beat yourself up over a silly mistake at work, think of the poor guy who pulled a real-life “Sorry, I’m sorry, I’m trying to remove it” after publicly hearting a photo of Jeffrey Epstein.

Truly incredible work here. As depressing as its subject matter is, I came away from it feeling oddly hopeful—all we have to do is not give them what they want. That goes for all big tech companies, not just MS. Enough of that kind of action/thinking and things start to slowly but surely buckle.

Not discounting that people genuinely liked it of course, but it really felt back then like people were bending over backwards to put it on this ludicrous pedestal purely because the chuds were being so obnoxious about it. Just thought "...The Last Jedi? Really?!?"

I remember leaving the cinema thinking "that wasn't as much of a trainwreck as it could have been even if it was just A New Hope all over again." That is legitimately the only thing about this film I remember. With a gun to my head I couldn't recall a single frame of it otherwise.

Last bump for this. It's not doing well performance-wise but fuck it. Really enjoyed making it, I think it's got some really great stuff in it, goes some places you might not expect, etc., and people would probably get a kick out of it if given a chance. Hell yeah

Console makers constantly saying "price of the brick going up" when said brick is a five year old console with no games on it doesn't make for a particularly convincing sales tactic when people can barely afford to eat, as it turns out
