A weird facet of YouTube comments: a not-insignificant number of people get REALLY ANGRY if you like something, but not as much as they do. #Backrooms is a confident display of dread & uncanny world-building, elevated by glitched aesthetics & patient ambiguity. Though the script stumbles by resorting to stock "trauma" thematic tropes, when it drops the words & lets the enveloping fluorescent hum lead the way, it's a glacial treat.
