upgrading the PC was nice, it still feels a bit icky to do so when nothing was really breaking but I gotta get out of that mindset it shouldn't need to actually stop working for an upgrade to be justifiable, especially for a device i use as much as my desktop

The most important part: I can play a game and do things on the side without compromising both activities again. Been a while since I could really say that. When people say that 16 GB is enough for gaming they're not wrong, but heaven forbid you want to do anything else at the same time.

32 GB of RAM now in :) Haven't done memtest yet but I did push it to take up 28 GB and I didn't experience anything weird. System seems to be handling this well so far, knock on wood. Also, it takes a LOT to go past 16 GB once you have 32, definitely wasn't the case before the upgrade!

MASSIVE update on this: I remembered that I had issues with certain apps, mainly Electron-based ones, in my laptop. See, that thing is old as hell and I need to run everything through XWayland instead for it to not be borked. Coincidentally, every app affected by this color issue is Electron-based.
