Was talking with a friend about my education master's thesis, and it occurs to me that it could be just one figure--the Stein/Lane/Silver Mathematical Task Framework--and one sentence: "This, but for K-8 coding education." 1/ #TeamCompSci #iTeachMath

Have had this experience in 3 cities in recent years -- wandering around by myself, taking in the city through my feet, wondering: where the heck are the other PEOPLE? Phoenix, then Dallas, then Cleveland. Counterexamples in the same timeframe: Manhattan, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal.

I have been saying this for something like 15 years and I am so tired, folks: the tactics. Of the right. Don't work. For the left. Because their politics are divisive and anti-community. Ours aren't. They win when politics is toxic and vicious. We win by building solidarity.

There are four main arguments for AI in education: 1. Efficiency, saving teachers time 2. Equity, making education inclusive 3. Improving outcomes by personalizing learning 4. It's inevitable Is it true? Nope. Micro 🧵

This WSJ piece reads like a parody of itself. The people in charge of these businesses—and the journalists who cover them—are *stunningly* credulous when it comes to AI. It’s the answer to everything. All common sense falls away.
