Fire fighters have been tackling the blaze for over 6 hours. If the fire takes central station (glass roof behind) it will be logistically and financially crippling for the city.

There are no reported casualties so far thank god, but this is still catastrophic. The glass roof behind is the main Glasgow train station, there will be immeasurable disruption if the fire takes it. The fire is not yet under control and is still spreading.

The fire at Glasgow central station is utterly devastating. Shops, homes and our transport link to England are being wiped out. I am amazed by the limited news coverage.

Tonight journey is a disaster. 1. Central station was on fire when I arrived, but train left on time 2. 20 min in we had an emergency stop as the driver suffered a suspected heart attack. 3. We need to wait on paramedics, but the fire in Glasgow spread meaning emergency services are stretched.

My train just did an emergency stop and there has been a panicked call for any doctors, nurses or paramedics to come to the front of the train. Four people have responded.
