yesterday, read @benegotherit.bsky.social's Lessons in Birdwatching end to end while traveling. delightfully nasty scifi that starts in "grad school sucks" territory and quickly unravels with escalation that reminds me of Gibson. recommended for those of us who like where "bad" protagonists take us!

I finished Lessons in Birdwatching by @benegotherit.bsky.social and I can’t recommend it enough for sci-fi fans. Honey wrote one of the most disgusting scenes I think I’ve ever read (I was *delighted*).

📚👀 Just finished Lessons in Birdwatching, by @benegotherit.bsky.social Science fiction eldritch horror political intrigue. It was uncomfortable and fascinating. I loved it, both for the story and for the writing itself. Tight and evocative. I recommend this unreservedly for any horror fan!
