rewatched 'hackers' and man, i love the optimism of 90's new age cyberpunk. trippy visuals, net as a frontier of potential, cyber-cowboys, digital shamans, technomagick, clumsy corps that CAN be defeated, the excitement of it all. i mean LOOK AT IT, HOW COOL IS THAT

Purely from narrative design pov I think subjective FPP works well with '77 story, genre and world. You're a mind trapped in a decaying body with only means of leaving it being through technological consciousness processing (cyberspace; soulkiller; projection into external devices; braindaces)

finished a long overdue playthrough of Detroit: BH. overall very impressive if not somewhat uneven. great breadth of choices - and damn, those crime scene investigations with Connor SLAP. but also, playing it NOW - the 'crackdown on androids' beats in Act 2 / 3 are eerily relevant--

stumbled upon some old pics i shot during phantom liberty development ^^ gotta admit setting up cutscenes in this game would be extremely pleasant (coz everything looks mindblowingly amazing) but in the end i value our uninterrupted immersion more ✨

i love Fallout as much as anyone but the show is losing me. it's not that funny, i have no idea what this story is about, what am i waiting or cheering for, plotting is messy, emotional stakes unclear, exposition dumps that lead to nowhere... it feels like a fan service checklist now :|

But as a little uno reverse i'll post a comment that i think captures well the expectation conundrum we found ourselves in. The game cannot be infinite. A little exercise for everyone - for every thing you'd like to see added remove something else (from a given aspect of the game).

So would extending Act 1 (before the heist) in CP77 make the game better? 1. No it wouldn't. It's like saying we should spend more time on Tatooine with farmer Luke before he got involved with all this Jedi stuff. (1/3)
