I still have to look up Baker's Chocolate square amounts since some of my old recipes call for a square of Baker's chocolate. So you need to know what era the recipe is from to actually bake it. Doing this with cake mixes is awful. So many people use them in their recipes.

Egg sizes were last adjusted in 1973 so recipes have to be pretty old to have that issue, but if a very old recipe says “large” eggs you might be better off with extra large or jumbo

i think the thing that kills me the most about this is that the only GOOD recipes from the 1950s-1970s lead poisoning and smoking madness that created so many food abominations were the boxed cake mix hacks
