Oil prices are spiking and our oil dependence is once again fully visible. If only there were a way to run cars without burning oil, maybe on electricity only! And in my fantasy world, imagine we could generate power with just the wind or the sun! But that’s in a parallel universe only, I guess.

Tr*mp’s government has removed the olive branch clutched by the eagle in our national seal since the late 18th century. Now it’s just arrows. Our national symbol promotes a message of war alone. I’m beginning to suspect he wasn’t serious about the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Gospel readings this Sunday and next are, respectively reasons 695 and 696 why the OG 1979 lectionary is better than the RCL. Until the RCL, we had options to omit some verses… 📕

Just got home after a wonderful time at the Episcopal Parish Network conference. I’m feeling inspired by many wonderful things happening across the church — and energized by many conversations with new and long-time friends.

It is failing queer Christians that empty and tepidly theologically liberal heterodoxy and even apostasy is often all that’s offered to us. When why we need, just like everyone else, is the Good News of JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour. We need He who died for us. ⚓️

Love this statue of St. Joseph on a Vienna street. Joe is just being a dad. And on the front & back, it’s the angel who spoke through a dream and the flight to Egypt.
