I'm honestly boggled as to how #yyj businesses can see this as being in any way positive. There's been a lot of pearl clutching over infrastructure, but I think we can all agree that cops standing around downtown holding shotguns is a far bigger deterrent than bike lanes.

If businesses in Victoria are concerned about people not visiting downtown, perhaps maybe they should focus on not advertising downtown as a police state. I mean I love the coffee from Saint Cecelia but I'll stick to home brew if that's what the streets are going to look like.

There should be an inquest EVERY TIME someone is killed by a driver. What were the causes? What can we change to make sure this particular set of circumstances doesn't happen again? Infuriating that they're just shrugging about a child's death. #BCPoli
