I was extremely excited to be in the audience of this @theguiltyfeminist.bsky.social the other week 😁 I was also incredibly nervous because I was going to see @dfdubz.bsky.social & Russell T Davies, but also, I was gearing myself up to ask a question and plug @nionwomen.bsky.social Hear me here 🎧

We were ridiculously excited to be at @theguiltyfeminist.bsky.social 'Road To Gilead' podcast recording a couple of weeks ago with Russell T Davies talking about how to fight LGBTQ+ hate through storytelling. We managed to hijack the Q&A session with a cheeky plug for our letter. Watch it here 📺

First, she frames the issue as a conflict between transgender rights and women's rights. Where is the evidence for that broad framing of conflict? Where is the evidence that women as a group see there as being a clash? None is given and women remain supportive of trans rights.

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Just want others in the trans community to know that stuff like this is only possible because of the extreme hard work of really good allies most of whom you will never see or hear from. But they are willing to fight for us at immense personal cost, when others back down. This is my cheers to them.

It has been one week since the Trans in the City Gala, and we are still feeling grateful for everyone who stopped to talk with us, showed their support and took a moment to stand with the trans+ community. Seeing so many trans people and allies in one room was an incredibly uplifting experience.

This #TransgenderDayOfRememberance, we remember the over 280 trans people killed globally this year and the many more lost to suicide. They deserved to live safely, without fear, and to be fully who they are. May their memories move us to keep fighting for a world where all trans people are free.

🕯 Today we pause to remember the trans people whose lives were taken by violence this year. Those lost to hatred, and those lost to the unbearable weight of living in a world that too often refuses to see their worth. We hold every name and every story in our hearts. #TDOR

I am a little late to this, but I have also requested my name and face to be removed from @cyclinguk.bsky.social publicity due to the decision to remove trans women from their awards. Trans women are women, gender is on a spectrum (and I did a genetics degree), and cycling is for everyone. 🏳️‍⚧️🚲❤️

🏊‍♀️The women who swim at Kenwood Ladies Pond have already made their decision. In 2024, almost 900 members voted to keep their trans-inclusive policy - a policy that has worked peacefully since 2019. Now, a small campaign group is seeking to overturn that democratic decision through the courts. 1/5
