I'm still reading up on older Sherlockian adaptations for my Watson essay, this time in the book 'DEERSTALKER!: Holmes and Watson on Screen,' by Ron Haydock. This was published in 1978, and prints of Gillette's #SherlockHolmes film weren't discovered until 2014.

I swear, one of my concerns is those who may watch that show going "Oh animated Sherlock!", not knowing what they're getting in for, get spoon fed phobia+hate of anyone not straight white male under the guise "It's a joke bro!"... and think original SH stories are anything like that (They're not).

The series being mentioned here is an animation I hope NEVER gets made and is based on a series of AWFUL books filled with sexism, transphobia, homophobia, the works. Why show creators went and looked for possibly THE worst books to have 'Sherlock Holmes' attached to for the show is beyond me.
