So... I can only pray that my friends and family and I here in southern Michigan all stay safe tonight... We have had more severe storms this spring than I can ever remember having before, and they're mostly at night and include tornado watches, which is also unusual for this area here on the lake.

Finished #YoungSherlock. That was really good. The second half of the show (season? please? I want more) differed from the first half, but I think they laid the groundwork well enough in the first half that it wasn't too jarring. I enjoyed it so much, and I hope we'll get a second season.

As more people outsource their brains and creativity, those of us who fight to keep our grey matter sharp and fluid will be more sought after than ever. Demand grows higher when supply grows smaller, after all. It will suck for a while, no doubt about that. But keep fighting the good fight.

Call me naive, but while I do fear things will get worse before they get better re: AI, I also believe that eventually, true artists and writers will win out. Study after study has shown the masses do not like or want content spat out by generative AI, and eventually, this will impact companies.

I'm still rereading #TheReturnoftheKing, and I just finished the chapter "The Ride of the Rohirrim," which ends on Theoden and his army charging into battle just in the nick of time to save Minas Tirith. And I started crying. I'm not sure why. That's never happened before.

I really don't mean offense to any Sherlockians who are Basil Rathbone fans... but Basil Rathbone fans kind of ruined Basil Rathbone for me. 😅 Iconic for his time? Agreed! Not gonna deny his importance. But, nobody else can hold a candle to him? Nah, fam, miss me with that nonsense.

Mission accomplished: I have hired a tax prep company to handle my newly-complicated taxes! It’s a small, two-woman business, and I really like them already. I was able to go in and have a consultation and get questions answered, and it was great! I feel really good about this. 😊

It's funny: I really did care about Myers-Briggs once. But I was really young, and now... I'm not quite as young. I've lived a little more life. I've gotten to know myself better, and I've met and loved so many wonderful people. So talking now about personality types makes me uncomfortable.

So, I haven't been into the Myers-Briggs personality types in a long time. Especially after I realized that I'm an ambivert with strong introvert tendencies and not 100% an introvert. As far as I've ever been able to tell, the 16 types just don't have any room for that kind of nuance. (1/4)

I'm so tired of hearing that men are natural protectors, that protecting is their natural role. It's... it's just NOT. Now, ALL people, regardless of gender, are protective of who or what they care about, certainly. And, tbh, I've witnessed many more protective women than I have protective men.

I'm currently obsessing over a version of D'Artagnan that exists more or less only in the 1998 film 'The Man in the Iron Mask,' and it hurts. He loves his not-quite-family SO MUCH, and he's absolutely unable to make anything better right up until the end. 💔

On the fifth day of Christmas, we finally have snow again. I can’t believe that after having almost a month of snow and frigid temps, it all melted right in time for Christmas, and now that the big day itself has come and gone, we’re back to winter. 🤦‍♀️

Just finished the annual rewatch of "The Christmas Pudding" with Ronald Howard and H. Marion Crawford. It's not Christmas until there's a convicted murderer on the loose and you gotta send your best friend away to protect him! #SherlockHolmes

Along the way, we talk about the uncomfortable parallels with our modern day, and what lessons we all can learn from the story. Then we dig into some of the adaptations (don't worry, we absolutely talk about 'Muppet Christmas Carol'!).

I returned 7 books to the library and came back with 7 books. Will I read them all? Nope. Will I read some of them? Maybe. Is the likeliest outcome that I will page through them and just enjoy having them here with me for a couple of weeks? Probably. 🤷‍♀️
