Went to the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum for my birthday because I am a NERD and looked up my cat's name in his famous dictionary, to find that there's a cute little poem. This is very accurate, my Miss Malkin does protend her fell claws.

Goals

OH This is ridiculously important!!! One of the beautiful things about webcomics is that they still exist outside of corporate sites which restrict content and favour certain kinds of stories... But it's been getting harder. This project would help so much.

End of year and game awards season had me thinking how daft I am to dedicate years of my life making a game in a genre which peaked 30 years ago... ...Then I see a message from someone saying every time they think about my game it makes their heart warm. And that makes it all feel worth it.

Also, congratulations everyone who made something this year. A comic, a song, a film, a novel, a painting, a poem, a short story, a sculpture, crochet, embroidery, whatever it is. In this era of slop and theft, if you *make* something you are a shining jewel and I am so grateful for you.

I was involved in a tree vs bus incident today, and the tree was the victor. (Fortunately nobody was sat on the top deck!)

As a bun native who lives in bap territory, I was delighted to be in London and order a "sausage roll" and receive a sausage in bread, not puff pastry. Hadn't even crossed my mind that was a possible outcome of the phrase "sausage roll'.

I feel like 2025 is my year of discovering that I really like 'time loop' games, and it's also a year that have seen a lot of really good time loop games. Forgotten City, Pentiment and Expelled were all so enjoyable. I haven't even got to The Blue Prince yet but I hear so many good things.

I keep seeing academics posting AI-generated comic pages that are supposed to help convey their research to a general audience, and they're invariably awful. It breaks my heart a little. There are so many incredible non-fiction comic creators out there who would love to work with you!
