They are not your friends. They are not on your side. If they wanted to be nice to you they wouldn’t be showing up with threats because you made an obvious joke online about our small green microbial friends. They aren’t trying to do you a solid by giving you a chance to tell your side.

They always try to make it seem like somehow you’ll be more suspicious and more likely to have trouble if you don‘t talk to them, but this is rarely the truth. They want to get you in trouble. They are TRAINED to get you in trouble.

By the way: if the FBI shows up at your doorstep and is like “I’d just like to ask some questions” they don’t have to read you your Miranda rights. You still have the right to remain silent. You can just say, “no, thank you, I’m not interested in talking to you” and have that be it.
