A look behind the curtains (or behind the canopy? 😜). The collision geometry is completely rigid. To fake the look of physical response, the shader just has a single radial wave that is reinitiated for every impact detected.

After years and years of trying to understand how to draw the forearm, I finally kind of understand how the muscles wrap around it. Not perfect but no more random lines until it looks okay lol. Next on my study list: hips and butts. Though I should figure out how to draw elbow too 😆

At long last, I have one unified shader so every surface can receive snow in a noisy pattern, limited by surface normal, blended via an (optional) heightmap, and reduced by both baked and dynamic heat sources

An old effect I made from ten years ago (I called it "Wibbly Wobbly"). It uses simple matrix distortion, so the whole thing can run in vertex shader. Works for 2D or 3D. Great for making jiggly things that don't make sense to be rigged with bones.
