I made my own lightprobe system for the Falconeer Remaster, and just hooked it up to the shipshaper lights , so folks can actually make their own lighting plan for their ship. The result is glorious.. #indiedev

Seeing how some indie games announced in the SGF trailer-mills are getting buried, I don't think the summer game fest is worth getting into as #indiedev I mean.. the AAA content mills are buying their way into these shows with demos of games that are at a glance.... glossy but cheap shovelware.

the 3D print by Thomas Mazurel, a local 3D printing expert , has taught me so much about going thru the process and how much work it is to get models printed this high quality. Much learnings I need to apply to shipshaper, much I learned...... and man this 3D printing... it's a skill.

ooooh for those wondering if I have forsaken my no-textures design rules. I have not.. no premade textures were harmed in the making of #shipshaper. the seams on sails are sine math on the UVs and the water has a Real-time generated perlin noise for foam. #indiedev so yeah still doing that.

#shipshaper is at 17 distinct sail types and deformable and adjustable rigs.. Just added loose footed Gafs and Lug rigs.. I do believe that might make it the most customizable sailing rig in a video game on the market. I mean lateens, studding sails, junk sails, spare sails. it's all there!

well I stuck a bunch of these extrusions (window rows, curved armor plates etc) all over.. in an attempt to further customize the shapes of the superstructure. Quite happy with it

So you thought I didn't have a plan with extending the railings into all these weird extrusions. !! (I didn't but I just realized I could make downward railings into procedural bridge windows!! ) and for some reason they look very appropriately ShipShaper!

Omg they are turning Ship Shaper into Bulwark...lol

Like I said, all these extrusions and now rails and merlons on the top of turrets. it's getting fairly weird.. in the best way. There is a whole field of procgen modelling that needs to exist, where you are just explore shapes , without the nitty gritty of box modelling.

I am going to have to make so many turrets this summer.. so many..#shipshaper
