"AI is a tool." No. Empirically not. A tool empowers people; helps people. It solves an extant problem. Generative AI in creative mediums is being used as a cudgel that diminishes and eliminates people, and the only "problem" being solved is fiscal. Stop validating it, even in passing.

...some meaningful commentary woven into their DNA that can change you, if you let it. Games are a punk art form. Punch up. Scare the bullies. Say something true even if it scares you.

I have a soft spot for "fail forward" game design. We learn from our mistakes - and by making failure fun - we learn to be less afraid of taking interesting risks. The world doesn't end when we stumble. Games don't need to either. ♥️

I am down to my final pass on downsizing my overgrown book collection. Plenty go back to the book shops, more to Little Free Libraries. A half-dozen small boxes go to stay with relatives, like children on an extended holiday.
