A little ode to last month! I associate October with many round things: pumpkins, acorns, apples, but also my cats, who become extremely round and fluffy as their fur thickens. Here’s my little ode to the roundest month of the year 🟠

I went to Iceland in August! I had to paint some of the beautiful things I saw. It was very weird, magical, and inspiring! I will definitely go back one day to see more of the island, but for now, I am revisiting it through my art 🖤

I love a soft, buttery rendering style. A gloopy, velvety, warm and glowy approach, if you will. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Getting this look right is easier said than done. I created a little step-by-step explainer that shows you exactly how I create it! It's free - sign up here to get it:

I used to hate the smudge tool, but now I love it. It took me a while to figure out which settings were just right for a perfect blurred edge! I don't gatekeep, so I made a free smudge brush set! I've been using it in all my recent art. Grab it here:

Muddy colors: the enemy of every painter. I get a lot of questions about how to keep colors vibrant, so it was time to make a tutorial video about it! Check out the full tutorial on my Patreon to learn more:

Gradients, smudge tool, blur - they’re all great tools, until your art turns into a blurry mess. A soft rendering style is not easy to pull off, which is why I made a video about it ~ this one comes with 3 smudge brushes that I made myself! ✨ Find it here:

I’m a character artist, which means landscapes are my enemy. I have an automatic habit of rendering mountains and grass as if it was skin, and struggle with the sense of scale. Still, I keep trying! 😤
