Blender just announced Blender Lab, an innovation space within the Blender project for the most ambitious tasks, which means that maybe some day in the future we will be able to delete a material in edit mode

quick intro to smart materials in ucupaint

took me bit too long to realize but size-aware gradient is possible if you use "Generated" coordinates in blender. they regenerate when you exit edit mode. makes it possible to have smart materials that make the bottom of the model dirty

godot 4.6 will likely have support for specular light in baked lightmaps

improving floater baking in ucupaint: can now bake directly into a layer mask + they get hidden after bake + some other QOL features
