I can’t say enough about this essay by @clhubes.bsky.social and I think it’s what I like best about @thepom.bsky.social. In the overwhelm of parenting, it can be hard to know when anxiety and frustration are normal or when something is genuinely wrong. A vital and important perspective -

I couldn't agree with this more. Ugh, the idea of planting store-bought crap instead of teaching your kid to marvel in nature. They'll be chasing that fake thrill forever, when you could be setting them up to find perfect and imperfect wonder all around them. Naturally, for free, on their own.
