I think you could be forgiven for naively thinking that eugenics beliefs and being a paedophile are unrelated so be surprised that one chap had both vices. It is not a moral indictment of you in particular, or your family, or anybody else, to say that a state that votes for the GOP by 60% is one that mostly supports the polices of the GOP, and the fact that 53% of white women are Republicans does not mean that half your friends are lying to you.

Almost as annoying as when exit polling showed Trump winning a majority of white women got taken as a reason to do struggle sessions and critical interrogation of liberal feminism, instead of an indication that half of people are women and also half of people are Republicans.

It is absolutely insane that "the GOP regularly wins supermajorities in the Deep South because white southerners reliably vote for the GOP at a rate outstripping any other demographic" is consistently taken as morally normative, instead of a simple descriptive statement.
