Ever wonder how DOTs can add highway lanes without going through the onerous environmental review process under NEPA? So long as the agency already owns the right of way it's expanding into, the widening is likely exempt. There's a USDOT memo speaking to this specific categorical exception.

E-biking shouldn't require a driver's license. "E-bikes donāt pose greater risks than conventional bicycles. On average, e-bike crashes are equally as likely and severe as conventional bike crashes. And research from Denmark even shows e-bike riders are more likely to follow traffic laws."

If local governments want to provide relief from high gas prices RIGHT NOW: 1. Quick build bike and scooter lanes that are languishing as plans. Call it temporary, just cut the process theatre and make it happen. Get staff to scope more. 2. Flex general funding to run more transit service.

This is a largely a fault of different parts of the city not speaking to each other. The bike lane has been planned since 2018; the building went through the design review process in 2020. There's no good reason why the bike lane wasn't been as part of the Public Works Permit for the building.

Can anyone tell me what the bike industry and/or People For Bikes are doing about the way e-bikes are being blamed for havoc caused by people riding electric motorcycles?!!? WAY MORE THAN HALF THE STORIES ABOUT DEATHS CAUSED BY E-BIKES DO NOT INVOLVE E-BIKES. THIS IS KIND OF IMPORTANT.
