All that “we can work with him on some issues” bs and voting for his nominees — both times it’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen in over 20 years following politics (other than voting for Bush’s war). Just fucking oppose him, on all fronts.

Okay this isn’t really happening anymore so I can tell you how l had “internal ICE sources”: the 3000 very stir-crazy ICE agents were all going wild on Minneapolis Tinder. Local girls would match with them and string them along for intel. They loved to brag about what they were doing all day

My favorite response to Lee’s surrender is from the Yorkville SC Enquirer “Gen Lee a Prisoner of War” “Officers & Men in Tears!” “Strong men will bow their heads and weep” But unlike the paper’s editor, I think these are good things

Lee’s surrender wasn’t front-page news everywhere in the US. In early C19, newspapers put ads on the front page, with news inside. That was changing mid-century, so we see some papers reporting the surrender on page 1 and some on page 2.

The famous Andor line is that "tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle." Here is a perfect example of that through malicious compliance: Idaho forced the city of Boise to remove its Pride flags. So the city painted rainbows everywhere else.

Boise took its Pride flag down. But new art has popped up at City Hall. What it cost
“The flag is not our only form of expression,” a Council Member previously said.

Rarely has my hometown been so accurately skewered. (For the non-TX non-US South folks, Mary Ryan Brown’s persona’s accent here is an exaggerated-for-effect version of her home Mississippi accent. Houstonians generally don’t sound “southern” or “Texan” unless they’re trying to)
