My politics are about realism and feasibility. Set achievable goals. Past a certain point, that's the only thing that matters. Setting your ambitions too high and no longer considering what's truly actionable given the available resources means you're not talking politics anymore but philosophy.

I actually think tact and politeness are critical tools for reestablishing a non fascist world. If just getting mad and brutal enough was enough to restore justice, we’d have been living in utopia for ages. It is in fact necessary to be polite in most situations. Especially if you want to be angry

Had daughter’s friend’s family over for dinner. (Delightful people.) Also had son’s friend over. I grilled pork tenderloin, had a giant bean lima beans, lemon potato salad, green beans, bread & tatziki. Adults had lemon cake, kid’s had s’mores, I’m ending the night w a beer & staring in to the fire
