It is the great fortune of having survived and participated in this fight since 2009 that allows me to look back and see just how far we've come. We were always going to have to face fascism in its most naked form, one way or another. Being here is not in and of itself defeat.

The conception of social movement as winning or losing on the basis of its demands being met or not is a fundamentally reformist conception. Looking at what has happened this year in response to state violence demonstrates, to my mind, that they have been wildly successful.
