We have to do what we call "admin hour" every day or two where we gather all our various calendars and flyers and emails and teacher messaging platforms and Google classroom and and and...and put them all into the master family calendars: one big one on the wall, one shared in Google.

In my off-the-record history is some language I wish I had known better than to use, and a few on-the-record opinions I'm also on the record as having changed with more exposure to the world. Notably, none of the above were important enough to me that they ended up *tattooed on my body.*

My first exposure to this guy was REAL BAD but literally every thing I've learned about him doing since 2005 has improved my opinion and that's...not how it usually goes.

This cuts both ways. How many gay and trans people have found community online even though they have to keep their truth a closely guarded secret irl? How many lives have been saved by shrinking our world? The failure isn't that we built the Internet, it's that we didn't stomp the Nazis out.

People are really, really struggling with the fact that you can only really see where a cultural tide turns in retrospect. It's not gonna happen in an instant, pals. Movement requires momentum and momentum requires time.

Did it matter? Does it matter? Will it matter? Hell, yes. Think of how you'd feel if only a few hundred people had shown up, instead of the millions who did. That's a measure of the No Kings demonstrations' importance.

I suspect that the reason it feels anticlimactic is that deep down we feel like if we had really gone through something that bad, we'd be memorializing it, and since we aren't, it must not have been as bad as we thought.
