This is really important. The main thing that makes it hard to achieve integrated nature and green in cities isn’t density of buildings or density of people — it's density of cars. And the more well-designed and integrated density of people & buildings you achieve, the fewer cars you need or want.

Every single time I submit a report about a dangerous street or intersection, the engineer tells me it can't be fixed because that would impact traffic flow or parking. The City Council recently declared safety as transportation's highest priority, but the engineers still prioritize traffic flow.

Astonishing advance by the Greens, astonishing implosion of Labour. When will Starmer's government get the message that it is destroying its base with deeply unpopular, rightwing policies? By chasing Reform, it legitimises the far right while delegitimising itself.

How much money do you save by omitting pedestrian lights and white paint? Almost none. This possibly avoids land take. They need a better Design Brief. Better priorities. Absolutely the wrong decision.

The concentration of wealth in the hands of a few isn't just bad for our economy. It's corrosive to our democracy. When the wealthy and well-connected control our political system, regular people don't have a voice. The result? The demagoguery and corruption we're seeing now.
