Tangentially related, my first job was at a third run movie theater--meaning they showed movies that had been released a year+ ago for a dollar. I cleaned toilets, sold tickets, popped popcorn for $3.35/hour. Sometimes they booked indie or foreign films--"A Private Function" (hilarious) was one./
