The ZHONGDA 79 left her berth on 12 Jan 25 for 16 days. The vessel only travelled ~50nm to an anchorage so (purely speculation) could be a test of equipment that couldn’t be safely energised in port, rather than a full test of capabilities. Vessel is also sitting pretty high in the water 🤔

It was the tiny and ancient (1993) Tapper-class patrol boat HMS RAPP that identified and electronically neutralized the Russian drone threat against French carrier CHARLES DE GAULLE a few days ago. This indicates Swedish navy have come quite far in equipping their units for a modern drone threats.
