E is for Echo class submarine Built in the 1950s-60s these were first generation Soviet nuclear submarines. Incredibly noisy. The Pr.659 ECHO-I was succeeded by the improved Pr.675 ECHO-II. The notches are for missile launchers, see next post

**UPDATE** Chinese Type-076 assault carrier with stealthy flying wing type UCAV aboard for (I think) first time. Unliker the US Navy equivilents it features an EMALS catapult for launching aircraft. Awaiting cover to be removed.
