Tonight! Once again, I'm live-posting the Shoreline City Council meeting. This time from my bedroom because I'm still sort of working and it's complicated, life's really busy for me right now, don't worry about it. On the agenda for tonight:

We're coming up on the last week of November, which will be the final week of the Shoreline Food Drive! The Shoreline Tool Library is just one of many drop-off sites, and we've been seeing some wonderful support from the community 🥫🫶

This morning transit advocates from around Central Puget Sound gathered together to bring one message to the Sound Transit board: "build the damn trains." This afternoon the board is holding its first retreat since the announcement of the $30-$40 billion shortfall through 2046.

I-90 light rail update: before the end of the month, 2 Line testing will start extending up to Lynnwood, with out-of-service trains running in between normal trains. Riders won't be able to board, but this will be a preview of what 4 minute headways north of downtown look like.

Today was the last day of the Shoreline (WA) Farmer's Market so I hauled home the bike valet stand. 2 banners, 100 feet of mesh plastic fencing and a bike rack, plus the bin of stuff on the front.

“No Kings” is great , but we really don't get a functioning democracy back until we internalize, bone deep, the instinctive response to this and every other statement like it: “I don’t care what that rich guy thinks.” Make it your morning affirmation. Say it ten times at the top of every hour.

IT'S OFFICIAL: Shoreline (pop. 63,740) becomes the latest Washington city to fully eliminate all mandates for off-street parking in new development following a 6-0 vote just now. This makes Shoreline the sixth city statewide and the largest city in King County to take this step in land use reform.

Instead of adding significant study and work to an already-overburdened planning department, Bellevue could follow *checks notes* Lynnwood and just pass state parking reform. No delay, no study, no outreach. You legally have to do it anyway - why not do it fast when you're in a housing crisis?
