After taking our 3D Printer Orientation at the NE Seattle Tool Library, Jen was able to find and update an existing model for a yarn winder adapter. Now, Jen can make cute and compact skeins of yarn (and reserve our 3D printers for her other 3D printing projects!) 🧶

Have y'all been to Magpie Thrift in Seattle or Shoreline? The Shoreline location is awesome, and there are even bikes (of many sizes and types) from the Shoreline Tool Library's Bike Shack, which have pretty accessible prices and go to support a wonderful nonprofit!! 🚲🫶

Students in our Make Your Own Holiday Wreath class really branched out and got creative with the crafty materials our instructors brought! You could really feel the warmth and festivity emanating from this class, and everyone ended up creating a beautiful wreath to decorate their home with 🎄🫶

This is the second year we've had the chance to run the Shoreline Sustainable Skill Series, which included ELEVEN discounted classes, from sewing to home maintenance, and one Clothing Swap. It went amazingly, and we're incredibly grateful that we had the opportunity to offer this to the community 📚🫶

I'm taking a class near Seattle where you get to learn how to sew cloth napkins and wrapping cloths! The question I'm now thinking about is which show I should binge while I use this new knowledge to make sets for everyone as gifts?? 😅 (Details on the class are below!!)

We're coming up on the last week of November, which will be the final week of the Shoreline Food Drive! The Shoreline Tool Library is just one of many drop-off sites, and we've been seeing some wonderful support from the community 🥫🫶

The NE Seattle & Shoreline Tool Libraries will be closed for the holidays next week on November 27 & November 28th. Tool loans due on those dates will be extended until November 29th, so if you're hoping to get an extra couple of days to work on a project over the break, now is your chance 🧰

Someone just built this really nice wooden turntable console in our Woodshop at the NE Seattle Tool Library. Kodak, their dog, is very content with this new addition to their home 💽🪚

Does anyone still send out hand-written cards? I'm going to a class near Seattle where you can design about 10 of your own (supplies included!), and I'm (oddly?) excited to send out cards for the holidays!! The class will be led by an avid crafter, but if you have any inspiration, please share 🫶

The NE Seattle Tool Library has a woodworking space that folks can use after ONE class! There are a bunch of professional tools, and a Workshop Steward will teach you how to use them & even be there while you work on your project!! Anyway, FOUR Workshop Orientations just opened up in November!! 🪚⬇️

Anyone near Seattle looking to learn new sewing skills? Tool rolls are a perfect, practical gift to give (to a loved one or yourself)! With the ability to customize the pockets and fabric, you can make this tool roll work for your sewing supplies, art supplies, or any other hobby you may have 🪡⬇️

I love the PNW 🫶 Craig recently shared with us about how he backpacked all the way to the summit of the south peak to use his skills to do some repairs on the Three Fingers Lookout! It's so cool learning about what our volunteers do with their tool-focused skills outside of the tool library ⛰️🛠️

Look at all these wonderful individuals who helped make the Tool Sale happen! We had the help of about 60 volunteers, which is incredible!! Folks organized tools, made baked goods, sold pre-loved bikes, and made the community feel welcome at the Tool Sale and our Shoreline Tool Library 🛠️💚

The NE Seattle Tool Library and Shoreline Tool Library have five 3D printers you can reserve after taking a 1.5–2.5 hour class! There are four classes scheduled in November, and only FOUR spots in each class, so get in before the holidays!! 🖨️⬇️

A couple of weeks ago, Mike and Tim, two awesome volunteers, helped us re-side the shed outside of the NE Seattle Tool Library! It's so cool that we have such talented volunteers in our community supporting us with some of our more unique projects 🪚🫶

Just north of Seattle (Shoreline), we're starting the holiday season early with two creative classes! Bring your kiddos in to make some upcycled holiday ornaments or sew a fun tote bag for a handmade gift (maybe you're putting your gifts in this tote bag rather than wrapping them!) 🎀🛍️⬇️

These are our last Seattle/Shoreline-based Basic Bicycle Maintenance classes for 2025 with seats available! Russ is a key part of our Bike Shacks, and he has over 60 years of experience to share as he teaches you how to keep key parts of your bike cycling 🚴⬇️

We saw over 850 community members at our Fall 2025 Tool Sale (our biggest turnout yet!), and we couldn't be happier about the thousands of tools that found new homes. Thank you for joining us, and we hope you're having fun on your DIY adventures 🛠️🫶

Lee and his son, Kai, two fantastic tool library members, came up with a wonderful idea of doing a Reuse Drive that is focused on kids' stuff! We're hoping this generous and spontaneous idea can bring in donations and community connection 🪀🫶

This wonderful couple came all the way from Bainbridge on their kei truck, and they left the Shoreline Tool Library Tool Sale with a cool, old Delta saw! It'll live in their personal shop, and it's going to help them build their new home 🏡🫶

Table saws have the capability to make so many different things, & with that comes different settings, types of cuts, and safety concerns to think about. Just north of Seattle, Geoff wants to use his 27 years of house renovation experience to teach folks how to use table saws safely & confidently 🪚⬇️

The 15th will be a busy night at the NE Seattle Tool Library with some earthquake retrofitting education and our seventh edition of Tool Library Book Club 🏠📖⬇️

We've started a plant propagation library at the NE Seattle Tool Library! We invite folks from the community to take a plant they'd like to grow, and leave a plant for someone else 🌱🫶

With Tool School for Women+: Power Saws, Lynette created a space for women & nonbinary folks, who are often excluded from trades and tool use, to comfortably learn how to use a variety of power saws. We saw to it that everyone left feeling empowered and confident with their new power saw skills 🪚✨

Michelle has spent 22 years as a firefighter with the Shoreline Fire Department, and she wants to help educate everyone with fire safety tips. This one-hour class will go into detail about how to prevent fires and keep families and homes safe from fire 🧯‍⬇️
