We recently received over 400 lbs of strollers, clothes, and toys on behalf of KidVantage! These donations will make a huge impact on the families KidVantage supports, and we're so glad we have the opportunity to increase their donation window through our open hours at the Shoreline Tool Library 🧸🫶

We've started a plant propagation library at the NE Seattle Tool Library! We invite folks from the community to take a plant they'd like to grow, and leave a plant for someone else 🌱🫶

With Tool School for Women+: Power Saws, Lynette created a space for women & nonbinary folks, who are often excluded from trades and tool use, to comfortably learn how to use a variety of power saws. We saw to it that everyone left feeling empowered and confident with their new power saw skills 🪚✨

Michelle has spent 22 years as a firefighter with the Shoreline Fire Department, and she wants to help educate everyone with fire safety tips. This one-hour class will go into detail about how to prevent fires and keep families and homes safe from fire 🧯‍⬇️

Cori and Steve are curious, cool, and compassionate, which is why we're proud to recognize their consistent contributions over the last couple of months! Thank you for spreading your kindness and sharing your knowledge with the community 💚

Supporting your community, befriending your neighbors, and doing it in a way that supports your interests? With a wide variety of opportunities, volunteering at the NE Seattle and Shoreline tool libraries is the whole package! We welcome all new learners hoping to help their community 🫶⬇️

Flat tires and broken spokes are no match for our newly trained Roadside Bicycle Repair class attendees! Russ, along with some of our other wonderful Bike Shack veloteers, taught a bunch of folks how to fix themselves out of common broken bike situations 🚲🔧

We had a really fun Clothing Swap at the Shoreline Tool Library (just north of Seattle)! A woman moving to Mexico donated her winter clothing, and the two gals in the last picture snagged a couple of jackets. We also had some terrific menders working on items that needed a little extra love 👕🫶

Spend an evening learning the basics of maintaining your bike through hands-on teaching at the NE Seattle or Shoreline Tool Libraries. You are welcome to bring your own bike if you have specific needs you'd like to address, such as adjustments, wheel truing, and bike fit 🚲⬇️

How have we been able to stay open 30 hours per week at the Shoreline Tool Library? We received a Re+ Circular Economy Grant from King County Solid Waste Division! This grant helps us support the Re+ Program to prevent and reduce waste 🪚🔁

With the help of several volunteers, pizza, and the expertise of the Handy Dandies, the Reuse Materials Store has done a 90° turn! Now, as you walk through the middle of the Shoreline Tool Library, you can take a peek at the Reuse Materials Store side and the tool library side at the same time 🔎🔨

Our first Shoreline Sustainable Skill Series classes (hosted just north of Seattle)are coming up, and they're going to be good! You can learn about emergency bicycle repairs, take a lunch break, and then learn about growing tasty snacks over the fall/winter 🚲🥕​⬇️

Starting on September 1st, 2025, late fees for reservable items from the tool libraries will be $1/day. This helps keep things moving so everyone has access when they need it. Thank you for your support and for keeping our community resources flowing 🔨🫶
