A great surprise to end the week. A grant proposal to study a devastating soft tissue sarcoma has been recommended for funding by the Department of Defense. This is a fantastic collaboration with Angie Hirbe's lab here at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Had a fun outing with some of our BMB Dept admin staff at the Kitchen Conservatory, where they prepared a really delicious lunch while we all got a chance to catch up with each other. We truly have such wonderful hard working admin staff that keep our dept running!

My Lab surprised me before group meeting with a little celebration for being elected as a AAAS Fellow. Definitely lucky to have such great scientists, but even more incredible human beings in my lab.

Was very proud of the US HUPO leadership who held an impromptu "Town Hall" during the US HUPO Conference this week to discuss the recent uncertainties and challenges in science. There were lots of anxieties, difficult questions, but sincere conversations. Most conversations were not centered 1/2
