It's always nice to see animators get wins like this. Animation shouldn't ever use AI for their stuff and I'm glad BuzzFeed realized they would lose a lot of support from this. Good on the artists for fighting for this and winning!

I also found out that it was previously helmed by another director before Lasseter came in(that being Klasky Csupo and DreamWorks veteran Louie del Carmen(who is also Ronnie del Carmen's brother, fun fact!).). So... ...it wouldn't be shocking if it also had a messy production.

Jeez, this studio. It's like it can't try to be anything other than Pixar. Even it's logo is trying to copy Pixar. An opening logo based on the first short film made by the studio? Gee, I haven't heard of that before...OH WAIT.

I saw this (and Puck is a legitimate source). It made me think of a movie Dean Wellins was developing at Disney Animation during Lasseter's tenure titled "Cosmic 3000." It was a sci-fi movie with an emphasis on space cars. So I wonder if this is "inspired" by that unmade project.

I wish animation twitter should be attacking Skydance Animation bc they are Disney/Pixar knockoffs and John Misconduct Lasseter is still running, where he shouldn’t. Going after animation studios is no good in general but just attacking Disney/Pixar while others got a pass? Make it make sense.

Seriously, even with having their LOGOS on top of their film logos, Skydance Animation just cannot escape the fact that they want to be Disney Animation and Pixar wannabes. So badly. So very, VERY badly.

I keep forgetting DIC was under Disney for a brief period.

Here are some storyboards from Lilo and Stitch. This is easily the most heartwarming film Walt Disney Animation Studios made of the 2000s and you can feel the touch that Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois brought to it. Still a classic.

Turning Red was really great and I won't deal with anyone telling me otherwise.

I still have massive respect for Pete Docter. He's an incredible filmmaker who knows how to craft amazing stories, and I think Pixar has been in the best place creatively under him that they've been in since their golden age. That said, he needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut.

Illumination and Nintendo have dropped the final trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. I can tell that the studio are really going above and beyond for this sequel and I especially love the production design for the worlds, and the new characters. Eager to see how it is.

Cool fun fact: Mutant Mayhem co director Kyler Spears did some additional voices on Hoppers. Animators always stick together.
