I just saw Little Amelie or the Character of Rain and I feel quite confident calling it an animated masterpiece. This is one of the most gorgeously animated and narratively pure portrayals of childhood innocence I’ve ever seen and it made me very emotional. Don’t miss it.

Ten years ago today, The Peanuts Movie was released. A very honorable and charming tribute to the comic strip created by Charles Schulz, this film from Blue Sky is such a delight featuring its pretty unique animation, simple story, and the cast of timeless characters.

Fifteen years ago today, Megamind was released. A hilarious cult classic from DreamWorks, this film about a supervillain who somehow defeats the hero is a pretty fun spin on superhero flicks thanks to its hilarious comedy, witty story, and a slew of memorable characters.

It is genuinely baffling me that a company thinks people would like to see an ad made through generative AI which will only regurgitate actual art and won't create anything unique rather than actually using real artists to make it. Truly shameful and revolting.

Ramsey Naito has announced that she has stepped down as president from Paramount Animation tonight, during the middle of their layoffs. I feel bad for her and I hope she wasn't fired because of this stupid merger but I am both curious and also worried about who will succeed her.

Warner Bros. Animation and New Line Cinema have announced that they are making a Hello Kitty film scheduled to be released on July 21, 2028. I didn't expect this, but I am gonna be curious how it turns out.

DreamWorks has announced the cast for Forgotten Island. The film will star H.E.R., Liza Soberano, Lea Salonga, Dave Franco, Manny Jacinto and Jenny Slate and is about two best friends stranded on a fantastical world who can only escape by forgetting each other forever. I’m hyped!

Here's some footage of Tom Hanks recording his part as Woody in Toy Story with the audio that would end up in the final film. It's pretty cool to see this footage and see Hanks record this character considering how it would be a big part of film history.

Miramax has announced that they are planning to turn Bobby “Boris” Pickett's song The Monster Mash into an animated film. I have no idea how this is gonna work as this has got to be one of the strangest ideas I've heard for a film in a while, but I guess anything is possible.

Walt Disney Animation Studios just dropped a new international trailer for Zootopia 2. It's crazy that we're now a month away from this dropping considering I've been wanting a sequel for almost a full decade since the first film came out. I really hope it lives up the hype.

Laika has officially unveiled their next first look at Wildwood, mainly at the character of the General who will be voiced by the legendary Angela Bassett. It is amazing how much their stop motion animation has come since Coraline and I am so excited to see this.

I just got out of Chainsaw Man: The Movie and it is one exciting thrill ride. It’s benefited from a quiet yet thought provoking first act and a bombastic action filled second. Both fans and newcomers should have a fun time with it. I sure as hell did and I recommend it.

The Mitchells are coming back! Sony Pictures Animation has officially confirmed they are making The Mitchells Vs. the Machines 2! Considering this was my favorite animated film of 2021 and my personal favorite Sony Pictures Animation film, I am incredibly hyped! Cannot wait!

DreamWorks and Aardman have announced that Chicken Run is getting a theatrical re-release for its 25th anniversary! The film will be shown on November 9th and 12th in theaters. Love to see it!

A new film adaptation of a Roald Dahl book dropped on Netflix this weekend about two horrible people. Unfortunately, this film doesn't stand as one of the best Dahl adaptations like Willy Wonka or Fantastic Mr. Fox. Anyway, here's my review of The Twits.

There are few animated films out there that are as sweet and cozy to me as Ernest and Celestine. It's a film that always warms my heart every time I watch it and makes me happy. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it as well as its sequel. Just a lovely time.

I just saw 100 Meters and I really, really loved this film. It’s a fantastic film focusing on why athletes race with really fantastic depth of character and some dazzling visuals and a killer soundtrack. Definitely had a fun time with this one.

To me, a live action remake of an animated film is the equivalent of a photographic recreation of an impressionist painting. Not only is it pointless, it fails to understand the artistic value of the original intention. All they are is unnecessary and a waste of time and money.

Thank God. We do not need another merger between film studios.

I'm absolutely shocked and sad to hear about Diane Keaton passing today at 79. She was such a lovely and incredible actress being in so many classic films like The Godfather and Reds and many more while also doing some voicework in Finding Dory and Green Eggs and Ham. I'm so sad.

Guillermo del Toro and Netflix have announced plans to form a new stop motion studio that will be both a studio and a school to push the medium forward and will develop plans to make Del Toro's next stop motion project after Pinocchio. I'm very hyped to see what this leads to!

Winnie the Pooh (2011) is still such a charming little film. I still maintain it's probably the most underrated film from Walt Disney Animation Studios. Also, its hand-drawn animation is simply fabulous.

Have some concept art from Coraline drawn by Tadahiro Uesugi. I love that despite how colorful some of these are, you still get the eerie feelings looking at them knowing just how twisted the Other Mother's world is.

The new Mutant Mayhem short looks pretty hilarious and I still love how fun these incarnations of the turtles are. If anything, it makes me curious to see them back in the sequel in a few years. Eager to see this short once it's out.

Twenty years ago today, Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit was officially released. The first feature film to feature the famous duo, this horror parody is a hilarious time with a creative story, some fantastic stop motion, and a whole plethora of fun characters.

Annapurna Animation has announced they are making an animated film based on the Moomins that will be written and directed by Rebecca Sugar. Already, hearing that the studio that saved Nimona is teaming up with the creator of Steven Universe is enough to make me super hyped!

One animated film that has really grown on me since I first saw it is easily Luca. I really adore just how simple yet pure it is. Films that are just comforting and give out good vibes are films we need more of. I hope Pixar can do more like this.

Bryan Lee O'Malley has revealed on Instagram that Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is officially getting a Blu-Ray! The series will be released on Blu-Ray on December 2nd! I'm very happy to see more stuff from Netflix get released on physical media. More of this please!

I love how dark The Hunchback of Notre Dame was willing to get and just how menacing Judge Frollo is as a villain. Easily one of Disney's creepiest villains.

I'm glad that Genndy Tartakovsky sharing the Black Knight footage yesterday got lots of attention cause the execs at Sony Pictures Animation reasons for turning it down are baffling, especially after the success of Infinity Castle and KPop Demon Hunters. Hope this gets it made.

I am still utterly grateful to be living in a world where Nimona got to be released. It's a film my younger self would've needed and it's easily one of my favorite animated films that has come out ever. Simply adore it.
