So, not only are they completely unable to read the sarcasm and subtext of the post when Matt Braly shared last year, but they are using THEIR idea of what it meant to justify bullying a talented artist who JUST found out his idea is not going forwards with Sony? These guys are just the worst.

I am actually disgusted by how Twitter users viciously treated Matt Braly, the creator of Amphibia, in response to his movie being cancelled.

It's hard to explain, but I think I know why this works in terms of fan service. It's like they took the original shot and not only did their own spin on it (that is respectful to the source material), but they tried adding elements to it that comes together so well (such as Super Sonic/Shadow).
