Listen I read a lot, and a lot of it is dull as hell, and I’ll tell you one thing I’ve learned: tedious writing is almost always a product of the writer conveying, rather than discovering. When a writer is discovering, or sharing discovery, no editor on earth can scrub out the vividity & joy.

The triple irony, is that for decades, Black people had to tolerate KKK rallies, where people wore masks. This was considered part of free speech. Masks make it harder for gov to punish free speech. But when Black kids asked for a ceasefire in Gaza, even Democrats rushed to pass anti-mask laws?🤡

The double irony, is that we're on this off-brand website because rich fashy white dudes didn't like the fact that 1 in 5 Black people was a daily active Twitter user, and 1 in 5 Twitter users were Black.🤷🏿‍♂️ And Twitter was used to hold racist people accountable, both in and out of government.

The irony of this statement is the difference in views between white Americans and Black Americans on the civil rights era. The civil rights era never ended. You are still in it. It just feels paused, because the US government ended all the leaders of the time. MLK. Malcolm. Hampton. Etc.

I was at a birthday dinner last night with about 25 other people, and spent the morning out in the real world. Literally nobody is talking about the shooting. Most are unaware of it, or only peripherally aware and shrugging it off. It's a blip. We live in a violent country.

I would rather not live in a world of easy violence, but whenever anything inevitably happens to one of these thoughts and prayers motherfuckers I'll save my grief for people who didn't actively choose this reality for us.

The people who force us to live in a violent country really thought they wouldn't have to live in a violent country along with us. They thought other people would do the dying for them. When one of them catches one of the strays they put in the air to catch us, what are we supposed to do but shrug.
