I really think Lancer is one of the systems that is really easy to get into the TTRPG as its own onramp, completely divorced from other onramps entirely. Especially with the meme culture around it and how it appeals (both in story, design, and gameplay)

Whenever we get any kind of playerbase data it's always interesting to see how many people are surprised that Lancer is somewhat popular*. When I talk to folks from the industry it always feels like Lancer is a massive blind spot and I'm not sure why that is *ignoring D&D and its clones, obviously
