Lufia 2: Ancient Cave update: In the blue chest grinding phase, which conveniently has gotten me all but 2 of the Iris treasures as well. I'm getting close to being able to have enough gear to run to 100 and kill the slime, but the cheevo set does require you get -every- different blue chest item.

Honestly even if they really felt they dragged down the pacing, it shouldn't have been cut entirely. Could have kept it in as a NG+ option to replay that quest chain as it originally was.

The FFXIV crew already had to cut out some of the most charming moments of ARR due to the filler-hunt. Do we need to lose even more? D: Like, some of the funniest stuff was in the Ramuh buildup, and it's just... gone now.

I've been writing pages of notes for my CAIN investigations, and probably 70% of that doesn't get explicitly stated to the players, but its for me when I'm dealing with NPC/Player interactions to inform on the characters, what they know, and what their motivations are.

skill issue. just do the worldbuilding/research and then not put it into the story this is not a joke. thinking out the implications but not explicitly enumerating them allows meaningful consistency without bogging your story down
